* LOS ANGELES UPDATE + MORE NEWS

Tommy holding Eddie Van Halen's original guitar from VH II
Tommy just came back from yet another amazing trip to
Los Angeles.
10 days of writing sessions and meetings with
some of the worlds biggest names.
This has proven to be the year when Tommy
is taking big leaps up the ladder as writer, producer
and musician, including his work on albums for Paul Stanley
and Westlife.
This trip was a major success in regards of writing top
class hits and big biz networking and the result is that Tommy
will become a part time LA resident again flying there every 8-10
weeks to work with super star acts as writer and producer
mainly but as always doing a few sessions as well!.
We wish we could give you information about everything that happend
but some things can only be revealed next year, we'll do our best
to show you what a cool journey it was anyway!.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Christian Ingebrigtsen, Bryan Adams & Tommy
Tommy tells you about the trip himself:
I was picked up at the airport by my new great friend Christian
Ingebrigtsen who used to sing in million selling popband A1
and as you know sings "Forgivness" that we co-wrote
with Marjorie Maye on my new Radioactive album, the day
started with an invetation for us to go and see Bryan Adams
and Def Leppard's last show on their US tour and also meet
Bryan, eventhough i was completely beat from the long flight
i had to go of course.
The show was brilliant and man what a great singer Bryan
is, he had his full band and not just the trio so they sounded top class.
After the show we were introduced to Bryan by our new friend
Andrea Remanda who has written many songs on his albums
with Bryan as well as many other hits with big stars.
The weather was really great all 10 days with over
30° celcius and not a cloud plus very dry air which
doesn't suck when it's just starting to snow back home haha.
Tommy & Stan Bush
I'm proud to be producing the great Stan Bush's new solo
album for Frontiers so we decided to meet and try to write
something for his album and it was just killer, we wrote 3
very good songs in less than 3 hours that you will hear
next year on his album.
Stan is such a nice and talented guy so thanks for a wonderful
time man.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Tommy
& David Coverdale
LA truly is the mecca of stars (duh:-)...and i ran into
the great David Coverdale at Tower Records on Sunset
and couldn't resist saying hello and thanking him for the 2
great shows i saw with Whitesnake in Sweden earlier,
plus i'm friends with Reb Beach etc so we had things to talk about....and
of course i gave him a copy of my new Radioactive so he will understand
what great music sounds like and beg me to sing on the next one!!.................YEAH
RIGHT! HAHAHA
He was truly friendly and is definently one of my all time favorite
singers.

Tommy & Jim Peterik
One of the best things about going to LA is that i often get to
meet people i know pretty well over the internet but haven't
met in real life!....that includes the legendary Jim Peterik
of Survivor.
I've had the pleasure of producing several of his songs
for various projects and we've written songs together for Radioactive
and the Frederiksen-Denander album etc so by luck he happend to
be in LA this time and we got together and wrote 2 smash
hits in just a couple of hours....really killer stuff!!!
He is such a nice and talented man and we will do a lot of work together
in the future...both in the AOR world and outside!!!
We even filmed a nice little interview for my Radioactive
documentary DVD.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------Tommy
with Eddie Van halen's original 5150 guitar!
Some things are just too cool to even dream about!....Eddie
Van Halen was my biggest idol and influence as a guitarist
growing up and i still think he and Michael Landau are the 2
greatest players in the history of music.....period!!!!
I've been good friends with Dave Wiederman at Guitar
Center/Rock Walk Hollywood for close to 20 years now and they
own the finest collection of legendary music equipment in
the world including several of Eddie's most known axes, Eric
Clapton's "Blackie", several of Jeff Beck's legendary
one's including the green one painted on the cover of "Guitar
Shop" that i'm holding on the picture below!, Keith
Moon's drums from the Tommy movie etc etc...
Well, ask and you may get your dreams fullfilled....Dave
brought out 2 of Eddie's most legendary guitars, the black
and yellow one from the VH II album and the classic red,
white and black 5150 guitar for me to play on....for me it was like
holding the holy grail....my knees were shaking and i'll never forget
it....ever!!!.
Tommy with Jeff Beck's guitar from "Guitar Shop"
---------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Michael
Thompson & Tommy
One of my favorite guitar players in the world and probably
the most hired for the biggest albums is my dear friend
Michael Thompson and we've started a nice trend of seeing
each other every time i'm in LA.
We spent a whole day just hanging, jaming and started writing
a couple of small ideas for something we'll finish next time.
He is one of my favorite person's with as much talent as
he is a nice guy, i also got a copy a copy of his new solo album
called "MT Speaks" and it's a moster guitar album
with lots of big name guests and i will try to help get
it distributed in Europe soon...don't miss it!!!
Tommy & Mike Landau
Another person i've known for close to 20 years is who i
always refer to "God's choice for guitar player on earth"....the
legend Mike Landau.
I was so pleased to find out that Mike, Abe Laboriel and Gary
Novak would be playing at the Baked Potato club with
the great Greg Mathieson.
When i lived in LA i used to see these guys play there every
week but it's been a while and oh my God how great they were.
Landau and Laboriel both play on my new Radioactive CD
so it was nice to hand them a copy....brilliant evening all the
way.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------Bobby Kimball
Another of my favorite friends for many years is Bobby Kimball,
lead singer in Toto.
We spent a great half day together driving around the nice
parts of Sunset Blvd, having lunch and listening
to what i honestly believe is the greatest album i've heard
in more than 15 years....the new Toto record!!!
I haven't been this floored by music in so long that
i had forgotten how great that feeling is....OH MY SWEET
ASS what a killer album they have done!!!!!!
By now i had written more than 10 smash songs with killer
writers and felt a little dry on inspiration but this day put
me back on track in a heartbeat!.
Tommy & Max Martin
A couple of days before i was leaving i ran into the modern messiah
of pop/rock hits Max Martin at the Guitar Center.
I played live with him in the early 90's and together
with Andreas Carlsson they asked me to come and play on
a Backstreet Boys album in 1999 when their Cheiron studio
was peaking but i was still very ill back then and missed
that chance which always made me sad.
But we had a great time seeing each other and the chance
to play for him in the future opened again....i think he is one
of the most brilliant writers ever and i'd be happy just cleaning
his car HAHAHA
--------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Tommy
& Philip Bardowell
Another highlight of the trip was to finally meet Philip Bardowell.
I produced his latest solo album this year and as with many
international albums in these modern times we worked through the
internet and had never met before but still had become good friends.
We had planned to meet when i was in LA in February but
missed every chance but this time there was no way we were gonna miss
it!.
Philip is one of the best singers i've worked with and a
truly great person, i look forward to a lot of fun and creative
work with him in the future....great meeting you bro!
I wish i could go more into detail about all the writing
sessions i did with Christian, the lovely and great Marjorie
Maye, the likewise great and lovely Andrea Remanda, Russel
Ali etc plus the GREAT meetings i had but it will have to wait
for a while.
I'm going back every 8-10 weeks to LA though cause
i'm getting a new management and some major offers that
simply are too good to pass on eventhough the traveling is a bit
brutal.
I had the time of my life still and i wanna thank everybody there
for a great time
Tommy

* LOTS OF NEWS
Tommy's schedule hasn't slowed down
and it's time to present some of latest work including cool albums,
new sound clips, chart success, Los Angeles trip and more.
* AMBITION

FRONTIERS RECORDS ANNOUNCES DETAILS FOR AMBITION PROJECT:
The basis of Ambition were put during the year 2002,
when Frontiers Records President - Serafino Perugino - approached
singer Joe Vana, of Mecca fame, in order to bring back the
spotlight on one of the long lost AOR golden throats - Thom
Griffin.
He reappeared again after a silence lasted some 20 years! - on
the music scene singing backgrounds on the Mecca album,
where Vana ironically, shared lead vocals with Fergie Fredriksen
(ex-Toto, Le Roux) the first singer in Griffin's original band
Trillion.
Griffin gained in fact his cult-status singing with Trillion
on Clear Approach, a magnificent example of Pomp Rock which still
today stands the test of time and that got reissued in the year
2000 on Sony Music in Japan.
Vana and Griffin soon went into the studio and cut the song
Waiting In My Dreams (a remake of a hidden treasure from the Mr.
Mister repertoire), a song Tommy
also produced a killer version of on the Spin Gallery album.
Shortly after however Joe Vana was forced to resign from his obligations,
because of circumstances outside his control. Griffin then remained
without a producer and a songwriting partner and the project
was about to be put on hold indefinitely.
But it was only thanks to Perugino's persistence that Ambition
could see the light of the day in the end!
He hired producer Fabrizio Grossi (Glenn Hughes, Starbreaker, Vertigo
etc.) to care about the recording sessions and asked around to supply
the proper material that could suit best Griffin's soaring vocal
abilities. Joey Carbone, longtime Joseph Williams (ex-Toto
singer) sonwgriting partner, answered the call and supplied No Wasted
Moments and Together.
But thanks to this idea he was also able to discover a couple of new talents
in the persons of Christian Wolff, a very gifted songwriter from
Sweden (who in the meanwhile has become the new songwriting partner
of On The Rise's Terje Eide who also has a song on this album Shaping
Fate And Destiny) and Brian LaBlanc.
The recording of the project could finally restart at the end of
2004 and since the music had an obvious resemblance to Toto's
sound on Isolation and The Seventh One, the producers thought
to enlist the services of Swedish guitar ace Tommy
Denander , who could give the perfect
AOR touch for this release!
Still keen on the idea of having two singers sharing lead vocals
duties and since Vana could not yet resolve his own problems -
at the very last minute, Perugino and Grossi thought it
was cool to have a guest spot from short-lived Toto singer Jean-Michel
Byron.
He duets with Griffin on Too Much and Hypocrites
and sings leads on Hunger giving a special taste to the
release.
The cool thing is that this makes Tommy
one of the very few outside of Toto who has recorded an
album with all 4 lead singers in Toto!:
Ambition's final tracklisting is:
Hold
On (click to hear an mp3 sample); Hypocrities
(*) (click to hear an mp3 sample); Alone
