* EVEN MORE SITE UPDATES:-)

Several old pages have been deleted or modified and several new ones have been added.
The old guestbook stopped working for some strange reason but a new and better one has been added today so please feel free to give us your feedback again.

The links page has been removed completely because we feel that people "Google" their way to any page they're looking for and it takes too much time to try and keep links updated.

Solo and band albums has been changed to albums & projects so we can include many more of the various projects where Tommy is more involved than his regular session work, it makes it easier for us to do bigger profiles on certain cool albums and projects.

Media is now audio & media where we will soon put up a huge mp3 section with samples and full songs from all of the most important albums Tommy has been involved in.
A huge update of reviews and interviews will be added to it as well.

A cool new page is songwriting where you get information on all songs Tommy has written for albums, singles, movies, jingles, CD-rom's etc, this page will for obvious reasons be updated quite often since Tommy is one of the most hired song writers in the world these days!.

RADIOACTIVE - Taken + DVD

The time has finally come to reveal all the information about Tommy's new Radioactive masterpiece called "Taken".
It won't disappoint any fan of high quality melodic rock and as before it features some big name guests alongside Tommy -

Jeff Porcaro (Toto), Steve Porcaro (Toto), Bobby Kimball (Toto), Fergie Frederiksen (Toto), Steve Lukather (Toto), Neal Schon (Journey), Vinnie Colaiuta (Sting), John "jr" Robinson (Quincy Jones), Andreas Carlsson (Bon Jovi, Def Leppard), Greg Phillinganes (Eric Clapton, Toto), Bruce Kulick (Kiss), Yngwie J Malmsteen, Steve George (Mr Mister), Gary Barden (MSG), Kelly Keagy (Night Ranger), Jim Peterik (Survivor), Philip Bardowell (Unruly Child), Robin Beck, James Christian (House Of Lords), Michael Landau (Richard Marx, Chicago), Dean Parks (James Bond theme, David Foster), Michael Thompson (Shania Twain, Faith Hill), Bruce Gaitsch (Madonna, Peter Cetera), Abe Laboriel (Pages, Michael Jackson), Tom Keane (Chicago), Tom Saviano (Peter Criss, Earth Wind & Fire, Ray Charles), David Diggs (The Brother Johnson), Vinny Heter (Fergie Frederiksen), Hussain Jiffry (Michael Bolton), Michael Voss (Silver), Thomas Vikström (Talk Of The Town), Johan Fahlberg (Jaded Heart), Mikael Erlandsson (Last Autumn's Dream), Chris Catena, Peter Friestadt (LA Project) and Frederic Slama (AOR)

"Tommy has this to say about the album:...This album has been a pure labor of love for me and it took a long time to make...i know that words will never be enough for me to thank all the wonderful people involved...the fantastic singers and musicians plus the brilliant Andre Beckston who has created a stunning piece of artwork for the whole album!.
In 1991 i recorded 10 songs with Toto and on the last day with Jeff and Mike Porcaro i had 4 hours left, Jeff asked me what i wanted to do and we ended up doing some percussion on 4-5 songs but even after that we had time left so i asked Jeff if we could give a song idea i had a try and he agreed.
We spent about an hour on it but it didn't feel totally right so we only recorded a quick version with guitar and drums...it wasn't even a complete version of the song.
Years later i transered the analog tapes to Pro Tools including this little idea that has remained unused so far but while working on this album i got the idea to mix his drums and then cut them in Pro Tools into a complete song and then write a new song to the drums....the song became one of the best i've written - Stronger Than Yesterday:
I had a lot of unused samples from Greg Phillinganes and Dean Parks from the first Radioactive album that i managed to fit into the song as well and then i started working my old friend Andreas Carlsson again this year....Andreas is well known for his huge hits with Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Celine Dion, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard etc and in february i did guitars for Paul Stanley's new solo album that Andreas is writing and producing.
Andreas is a huge Toto fan but i was really happy when he agreed to sing this song for me...and what a great voice he's got.
I then sent an e mail to Steve Porcaro asking if he would play a quick little thing on the track since it's Jeff playing and he ended up blowing my mind totally by doing a complete old school Toto arrangement with 7 different keyboard parts including horns, strings, Hammonds etc.....and this is just the magic of ONE song from this album.....each song has it's own cool story."

The album will be released in a regular version, but also as a strictly limited edition featuring a 12 minute bonus preview DVD with interviews and studio recordings plus cool private films of the musicians from the forthcoming documentary DVD "The making of Radioactive".

This DVD is an 2 hour documentary about how Tommy recorded his now classic first Radioactive album "Ceremony Of Innocence" and it features interviews, in studio and private film clips with Jeff Porcaro, Mike Porcaro, Steve Porcaro, David Paich, Steve Lukather, Bobby Kimball, Fergie Frederiksen, Fee Waybill, Michael Thompson, Dean Parks, Bruce Gaitsch, Abe Laboriel, Neil Stubenhaus, Vince DiCola, Greg Phillinganes, Randy Goodrum, Dave Boruff and many more.

CD2 - Track 15 - Frederiksen / Denander - Written In Stone (demo) (Tommy Denander, Fergie Frederiksen, Ricky Phillips) - Taken from the forthcoming album “TBA”
Fergie Frederiksen is one of the most accomplished vocal talents in melodic rock. His recordings with Trillion, Leroux, Toto and more recently Mecca have left an indelible mark in melodic rock! Teaming up with Swedish producer and guitarist Tommy Denander , and “with a little help from his friends” Ricky Phillips (Styx) and Jim Peterik (Pride Of Lions, Survivor), Fergie offers another brilliant chapter of his long career.

* FEBRUARY UPDATE

BACK FROM LOS ANGELES!

Here the full update from Tommy himself...

Tommy with Hollywood sign behind him

What an incredible trip this has been, me and Cecilia got back late last night after 3 wonderful weeks in LA.
I used to live in LA but i haven't been there for 13 years!...i was very ill for 10 years and honestly never thought that i would get the chance to see it again.
When i went there in 1991 to record my Radioactive album with the Toto guys i thought nothing could ever top this in my life...but i was wrong!.

Fergie and Tommy on Ventura pier + Fergie and Cecilia in Malibu

The main reason for the trip was of course to produce the vocals with Fergie Frederiksen (Toto) for our new Frederiksen-Denander album and that went great.

Ventura

We did the first days of recording out in Ventura, about an hours drive from LA at David Coyle's place (thanks again mate).
David is the guitarist for World Classic Rockers that Fergie sings with together with members of The Eagles, Journey, Steppenwolf and Lynyrd Skynyrd among others.
Out there we also met briefly with Nick St.Nicholas from Steppenwolf, remember the song "Born To Be Wild"?.

Fergie working in Ventura

Fergie did a great job singing and we got 6 songs done in a few short days.

We did 3 more songs at Ricky Phillips (Bad English, Page/Coverdale, Styx) place and that was a blast as well.
Ricky is such a nice guy and he helped co-produce Fergie's vocals on those tracks, he also did a great job helping us with melodies and lyrics.

Tommy - Ricky Phillips - Fergie

This album is gonna be a killer i can promise you, it also features Ron Wikso (Foreigner) and Kelly Keagy (Night Ranger) on drums, Michael Thompson, Bruce Gaitsch and Bruce Kulick on guitars plus a few other cool guests.

One of the funniest nights i had was meeting up with my good friend Bobby Kimball (Toto) and the incredible Greg Phillinganes (Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton) to play bowling!!!.
Greg's sister was holding a benefit bowling tournament to raise money for Lupus at the Corbin Bowling alley in Tarzana.
I knew little about the event on the way there and all of a sudden found myself being picked with Bobby and Greg to play in their team!!!.

Greg Phillinganes - Tommy - Bobby Kimball

The whole event was covered by a couple of TV stations and David Paich (Toto) showed up to give support, he looked great and it was fun seeing him for the first time in 13 years for me.

Cecilia - Bobby - Greg's sister - Jasmine

We played against a guy from the LA Lakers and his nice girlfriend plus Bobby's wonderful girlfriend Jasmine.....we totally smoked them in 2 rounds though HAHA.

I even got a nice prize for it!!! .

I've known the very talented Andreas Carlsson (Britney Spears, Bacstreet Boys, NSync, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard) for many years and he is living in LA now so we decided to get together and do some work and boy did this turn out to be the greatest stuff in my life!!!.

Tommy - Andreas Carlsson - Harry

Andreas and the legendary Desmond Child who among other things co-wrote classic songs like "I was made for loving you", "Heaven's on fire", "Living on a prayer", "How can we be lovers", Dude looks like a lady" to name a few have their office and temporary studio in a penthouse on Sunset blvd.

Tommy - Desmond Child

The first thing i played on was for a new cool band called The Click but then i got to do the best session of my life....for Paul Stanley's (KISS) new solo album!!!.
Having been the biggest Kiss fan you can be for all my life this was unreal, i started to play because i saw a Kiss poster in 1975!.
I got to play on 2 songs and they both sounded really good so this will no doubt be a fantastic album.

Paul Stanley

I also did a few other songs for Andreas and Desmond for various artists they're working with and it's been the coolest time ever working with them.

Also their engineer and often co-producer Jules plus the talented Swede Harry who also produces and writes for them was involved and we had some fun days.

I also hooked Andreas up with my old buddy Steve Lukather from Toto and the 3 of us wrote a really cool song together.
Luke played piano, Andreas played acoustic guitar and i played electric guitar, they're both such great singers and it was a pure treat hearing them harmonize their ideas.

Andreas, Luke & Tommy

Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys stopped by to say hello while we worked and i've been promised to play on their new album as well which would be a lot of fun of course...and on my way out on Sunset i bumped into none other than David Coverdale (Whitesnake) so it was a pretty cool day!:-)

Dave Weiderman, a blonde:-) & Tommy + the amazing Les Paul

Another dear friend from the past is Dave Weiderman who is head of artists relations at Guitar Center in Hollywood.
I've known him for 18 years now and he's the guy in charge of the famous Rockwalk handprints outside their store.
I needed a really good guitar for some of the sessions and he kindly lent me this incredible 10 000 dollar+ Gibson Les Paul from his private collection, it's a custom shop signed by mr Les Paul himself...Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) and a few others have used it as well on albums and it sounded like a million bucks!!!.
Dave also let me play the Fender Strat he'd just been given by Jeff Beck, the actual one from the cover of Jeff's album Guitar Shop!!!.

Cecilia & Tommy on Rodeo Drive

Me
and Cecilia took every free day we could find to being tourists and big time shoppers!.
We walked around Hollywood, Sunset, Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills and other places for hours and had such a fun time, she asked me before we left if you really see any stars in LA....well here's a list of some we saw -
Julia Roberts, Sharon Osbourne, Donald Sutherland, Neal Schon, Kelsay Grammer, Jack Wagner, Billy Joel, Selma Blair, Nils Lofgren, Jamie Lynn (The Sopranos), Howard Stern, Billy Gibbons and Samuel L Jackson!!!

Tommy & Jamie Lynn

One of my favorites was meeting Jamie Lynn from my favorite TV show the Sopranos at The Beverly Center, she was so nice and really liked the fact that she had fans in Sweden:-).

One night i wanted Cecilia to see something funny and typical amercian so i took her to The Improv, a famous stand up comedy club where lots of legends like Jim Carrey, Jeey Seinfeld, Billy Crystal and Jay Leno have performed.

Jim Gaffigan at The Improv and on Late Nite with David Letterman

We saw one of my favorites Jim Gaffigan who's known from Sex and the city plus he is often seen on David Letterman and Jay Leno.

Over the years since i was last in LA i've made quite a few new friends who live there but that i've never met so getting the chance to finally meet one of my favorite persons and guitarists Michael Thompson was a lot of fun.

Tommy & Michael Thompson

We spent some quality time at his home jamming in his studio and also filming a little interview for my Radioactive DVD.
Michael is one of the nicest guys i know and when i needed to borrow a few guitars for the sessions that came up he pretty much let me have anything i needed from his private equipment!!!.
I ended up using a couple of his electric guitars first and a few days later borrowed his great Barritone that he's used on quite a few hit records.

I also met my best friend Karl Meyer from when i lived in LA (1987-90), back then he was just another rock star wannabe guitarist with little money and big dreams HAHA.
Last time i saw him was in 1992 and since then he's become a real big shot s in the Hollywood movie industry!!.
He started his own company called Gentle Giant Studios and he's worked with people like George Lucas, Steve Spielberg, Tom Hank, Jim Carrey...and so on!!!!!
He's worked on movies like all 3 Lord of the rings, Spiderman, Matrix, Star Wars etc and it was so nice to finally hook up again.
It felt just like old times except we're older and in a better spot in life.

LA is such a cool city cause there's something big going on everywhere all the time.
We went back to Sweden on the 26th, the day before the Oscars so unfortunately we missed the chance of "stalking" the stars on the red carpet but we did get to walk on it at least the day before the big show:-).

One day i was out walking in Hollywood with Cecilia and we just happend to walk by S.I.R, a famous place to rent music equipment and rehearshal space.
I just wanted to stick my head in for 5 seconds to see what the place was like so Cecilia waited for me on the street.
The first guy i ran into was Bruce Kulick (KISS) who i've done a few albums with so we started talking and he tells me that the place is filled with fun stuff right now cause they have this 5 day Rock 'n roll fantasy camp going on.
We go out and get Cecilia and he brings us into the show room where an all star team of Nils Lofgren (Bruce Springsteen), Kelly Keagy and Jack Blades (Night Ranger), Roger Daltery (The Who), Elliot Easton (The Cars) and a few others are about to start playing!!!.
Dicky Betts (The Allman Brothers) and Jim Keltner (drum legend) and other big names had been there as well.
I've been working with Kelly Keagy on his album for a while but we've never met so that was a nice surprise for both of us.
I wanted a picture of me and Bruce so i asked a guy who came walking if he would help us out and Bruce said, "you actually want him to be in the picture i think cause this is Simon Kirke, drummer for legendary rock band Bad Company!....so of course he is in the picture:-).

Simon Kirke, Bruce Kulic and Tommy at S.I.R

Bruce and i got a long really well and decided to get together a few days later to write and that turned out really good so we're gonna keep writing and working together on more stuff which i really look forward to.
I'll be seeing him and Eric Singer in Sweden in the end of April when they play in Stockholm with ESP..don't miss it.
We've had the time of our lifes on this trip and due to many interesting offers i will be going back to LA quite a bit from now on to write, produce and do sessions.

* SWEDISH HARDROCK AID DVD

A few years ago Tommy and Björne Lindbom (Prisoner) wrote and recorded a song for the 9/11 attacks.
The song featured more than 150 of the biggest names in Swedish hardrock including Europe, Yngwie Malmsteen, Mikkey Dee, Hammerfall, Pain and Candlemass.
That project was very poorly handled by the people in charge so the song was pulled and kept to be used if some other tragic incident would happen....well, it doesn't get much worse than the sad situation in Asia right now.
With 150.000 dead so far and more than 3500 Swede's missing this is a disaster of a size we can't understand and the need for money is in the billions!!!.
Tommy and Björne is right now putting together a very special DVD that will feature a documentary of how the song was recorded with new interviews with several big names, a music video of the song "Where Is The Fire" plus some 10-15 never before seen and very rare video clips by many of the biggest hardrock bands in Sweden.
It will be sold in Sweden for 100 kr and for about 20 dollars in the rest of the world, ALL profits will go directly to the Red Cross.

We really hope that people understand the need to help and this is a great way cause you'll get a lot for little money spent.

* MAJOR UPDATE FINALLY!!!!

I guess it's fair to say that Tommy has been a VERY busy guy in the last 5 months!.
Normally we update this site on a weekly basis but the workload and other personal reasons for all involved delayed it far too long.....but finally here it is.

Tommy has had an amazing year, most of you that he was very ill for 10 long years that among other things prevented him from playing live.
Thanks to his lovely girlfriend Cecilia who's very much the reason he's back on his feet 100% Tommy is now touring, doing sessions and travel all over the world again.
It''s hard (if not impossible) to list all the work he's done in the last 5 months as he is one of the most busy guys in the biz but here are the most important stuff.

* THE LIVE SHOWS

Tommy, Sayit, Mikkey Dee at Cronan- Swedish popstars Alcazar - Tommy at Cronan

The show was held at the Totem Village Club at the border of Rome for their Rockfest festival as headliner on October 30th.
Tommy was joined from Sweden by drummer Daniel Flores and the show also featured special guest Mistheria on keyboards.
It was one of the best trips Tommy's ever had he says and the whole band (Marko Pavic, Leonardo Porcheddu, Jimmy Bax, Giancarlo Pieragostini, Aleks Ferrara plus ValeG and Daniela) plus Chris himself were incredibly nice and talented people.
Tommy was interviewd by Italian TV and a few magazines plus met a lot of his nice Italian fans.

Tommy's dear friend Sayit has been in charge of some very cool jam nights each tuesday at a club in Gothenburg called Cronan.

Tommy, Sayit & Can Do

Tommy has guested twice and both times have been very cool, the first show he played with his friends from Can Do and the audience was treated to really cool versions of various Toto and Steely Dan covers.
The night ended with Mikkey Dee (Motörhead) and Sayit coming up for some kick ass jamming.

Tommy, Per, Patrik (Dogface) & Joel

The second time he played with Sayit and Joel Starander among others and this time it was a pure hard rock night with songs from Van halen, kiss, Whitesnake, Deep Purple and such....lot's of fun!!!.
